One Too Many
« on: August 05, 2007, 01:23:14 PM »
This weekend we're back to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, the second trip to this beautiful track in the last eight weeks.  Simply stated, that's one race too many.  Don't misunderstand me here, I love the track, and I love the racing at Pocono.  But twice in two months?  No.  Sorry.  There are plenty of other tracks and markets that deserve to see Cup racing.

Who to Watch
Who? #83, Brian Vickers
Why? The kid loves Pocono.  Based upon practice, the Red Bull #83 team found some more speed since their last visit to the track.  Look for a solid Top 15 finish out of Vickers, which should be some pretty cheap points for your fantasy team.

Who? #07, Clint Bowyer
Why? If the Jack Daniel's team can just find some consistency.  They are so very close to getting win #1.  They battled adversity all week long last week at Indy, finishing 13th.  If he can fight off some of the gremlins, Bowyer should be in the Top 5 at the end of the day.

Who? #42, Juan Pablo Montoya
Why? He's on a roll.  It's another Top 10 day for Montoya.

Who's Going to Win
This is the weekend that Ryan Newman takes the #12 Alltel Dodge back to Victory Lane.  Eight weeks ago, he nearly won the race.  The conspiracy theorists say that he should have won.  He didn't, but you can take a rest and know that he's going to do it today.

Happy racing.

I agree, one to many at Pocono. Lets lobby for Iowa.
Little surprised you left out Kurt Busch, he has historically ran well here.
Hope everyone enjoys todays race.

Damn.  I called on the wrong Penske car.  The #2 car was unbelievable.  It's been a long time since we've seen a single car have the entire field covered by that kind of margin.

Impressive day by the #8 Budweiser crew.  Spin out, change a shock, suddenly a 2nd place car.  Great job.

I assure you, if I were making the schedule, Montreal would most definitely be on the ***Cup*** schedule!  I LOVE that track!

If youre talking about "major" meets and not just a couple people getting together for dinner....

...Ill say 4.  One per quarter.
